Artist Statement

As a participatory artist, I use my participants' interests and my own to create exciting projects. Taking inspiration from pop culture, such as Marvel. At the same time, using my artwork to create stories and characters about different topics. Like helping to reduce anxiety and bringing awareness to mental health. Within my artwork, I primarily work with the theme of escapism, experimenting with and exploring this theme. As a participatory artist, I use many different art techniques. I mostly like to work with digital art to bring my weird and wonderful worlds to life.

I want to thank Storyville Book for allowing to display my artwork here and my lecturers from CTA for all the supporting me through my university experience.

Explanatory Text

Well-Being Monsters is about strange creatures that like to find humans who enjoy similar interests. The Well-Being Monsters are drawn to positive emotions from humans doing their favourite activities. The Well-Being Monsters want to support their human friends by helping scare away the Worry Monsters, who feed off negative thoughts. I made this book about bringing awareness of how people use their favourite activities to help with well-being. While bringing awareness of people having help with their mental health from professionals. Using The Well-being Monsters to explore these themes in a light-hearted and fun manner.
