Following the statement from Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street today, Pontypridd Town Council would like to express its deep sadness at the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Town Council joins everyone in sending their heartfelt condolences to members of the Royal Family and in thanking Her Majesty for over seventy years of public service. As the longest reigning monarch in British history, the Queen had become a much loved and respected figure across the globe. A book of condolence will be placed at Pontypridd Museum and over the coming days we will support residents in paying their respects in an appropriate way.

Pontypridd Town Council Mayor, Councillor Lyndon Bengough:

“Following the sad news announced today of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, can I, on behalf of Pontypridd Town Council and the people of Pontypridd, send our deepest sympathy to the Royal Family at this time. Her Majesty the Queen was an inspirational figure whose decades of public service have touched countless lives."

Every three years, the Town Council is required, under Section 6 of the Environment (Wales) Act 2016, to report on the actions we’re taking to promote and protect biodiversity in our area. We are delighted to share our latest Biodiversity and Resilience of Ecosystems Report, outlining the projects and initiatives we’ve undertaken to enhance local habitats and support wildlife across Pontypridd. We hope you enjoy reading the report and discovering more about the wonderful green spaces we care for in and around our town.
