BUILDINGS & ASSETS MANAGER
Full time (37 hours) or part time will be considered (including weekends and evening work where required)
NJC salary scale points 24-28 (£35,412 - £39,152 with a pay award pending) per annum to be agreed depending on experience and qualifications
Following a recent internal review, Pontypridd Town Council has taken the decision to create and recruit a dedicated Buildings and Assets Manager.
As part of the senior management group, you will have oversight of the Council’s asset portfolio, introduce structure, planning and control. In addition, you will deliver maintenance and improvement works, manage contractors and ancillary support staff and ensure buildings, open spaces and allotments are safe, compliant and fit for purpose. This is a key role in the continued development of the Council and will improve resilience, reduce risk and ensure that the Council’s assets are protected and enhanced for the benefit of the community.
The role is deliberately both strategic and practical. The successful candidate will be expected to lead but also to act. A significant proportion of the role will involve hands on work alongside management responsibilities. The Buildings and Assets Manager will play a central role in shaping how the Council manages and develops its physical assets in the years ahead. There will be an opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.
To apply, in the first instance complete the application form and provide a covering letter addressing the key responsibilities and person specification set out above by 4pm on Monday 11th May. This should be sent to the Chief Executive at: tony.graham@pontypriddtowncouncil.gov.uk
Shortlisting will take place on/around Wednesday 12th May, and interviews will take place on
Wednesday 20th May.
