Artist Statement

Ghosts, we know them as a symbol of mischief and death, but to me, they are so much more than that. For me, they are a symbol of not being alone and a way to bring people together. Everyone has a ghost story or knows one, and the town of Pontypridd is full of them.

With the help of the people of pontypridd we have created a ghost trail honouring all the ghosts of Ponty. At each destination, you will find hand-made clay ghosties set within mini-worlds that transport you to their legends.

Once you have been to every destination, your own ghost is waiting for you to take home at our ghost shop.

As an artist, I enjoy working with clay and creating large installations to transport people into new worlds. I want people who have experienced my work to connect with those around them and understand the profound importance of ghosts. I also want people to understand that they are never truly alone, even at their lowest points.

Rwy'n credu yng ngrym creu gyda'n gilydd i adeiladu cymunedau cryfach a mwy cynhwysol, er mwyn gwella profiadau a safbwyntiau ein gilydd drwy sgyrsiau a chreu. Rwyf eisiau i bobl sy'n profi fy ngwaith greu cysylltiadau â'r bobl o'u cwmpas gan gysylltu drwy eu gwahaniaethau lle, yn y pen draw, fy nghelf i yw eu celf nhw.
