Artist Statement

As an Artist and Facilitator, I am inspired by the places surrounding me and the people I meet along the way. I embrace collaboration throughout my practice by using conversations, experiences, and input from others to spark creativity. I’m avid about creating work that utilises recyclable, repurposed, and safely foraged materials. My work consists mainly of larger-scale 3-D work and installation pieces, incorporating the manipulation of found and repurposed objects, photography, soundscapes, digital illustrations, and video.

“Meaningful Moments”

I first visited Clwb y Bont in 2022 and was instantly charmed by its character and strong community spirit. As such a versatile space, I knew there were many stories to be told about the venue, and I was keen to capture that for my artwork. The five artworks encapsulate stories shared by people I've met at Clwb y Bont and highlight the venue's versatility and meaning in different people's lives. I invite you to sit at each table and listen in on the shared stories, much like you would if you sat around a table in a bustling pub. While immersing yourself, I encourage you to consider the importance of your social spaces, community groups or local venues such as Clwb y Bont. You may want to tell a story to someone next to you, plan to join or revisit a particular community group, visit somewhere new, and continue creating moments and stories to share.
