Leader of the Town Council

Representing the Rhydyfelin Central Ward

Bio

Simon has served as a Town Councillor since 2017 and was Leader of Pontypridd Town Council for seven years up to 2025. He is very proud of the process of change the organisation has undergone in that time and remains passionate about making a positive difference in the community.

A keen volunteer, Simon was previously a core volunteer at Pontypridd parkrun and still helps regularly at Pontypridd Junior parkrun--altogether, he has volunteered on close to 500 occasions. He loves getting stuck in at events, whether supporting Town Council activities, working in partnership with others, or calling the bingo at Rhydyfelin Community Centre.

Simon is a trustee of Pontypridd Food Bank and formerly served as a trustee of the Pontypridd Children's Book Festival. He is also a school governor at both Trallwn Infants and Coedpenmaen Primary School.
