Tymor Yr Haf 2026 is here! 

We have a fun-filled summer programme with something for everyone. We are hosting summer fun days, children's crafts, themed days and events, forest schools and museum talks. This year we also supporting a number of music festivals; the Choirs Festival has already passed, the Jazz Festival will soon be here, and we are finishing our programme with the return of the Brass Band Festival.

  SUMMER FUN DAYS

Our Summer Fun Days are back! We are ready to take over 6 venues with this free family event, running from 11am-2pm. The day promises to be fun and filled with a range of different activities, so come and go it a go. For more information on each venue click through the photos below.

  CHILDREN/YOUTH EVENTS

We have a range of events tailored for children and young adults this summer:


Children's Arts & Crafts will be running every Wednesday throughout the summer holidays, from 12.30-14.30 in Pontypridd Museum.


Time Travellers will be hosting three history sessions on the 18th August in Pontypridd Museum. The sessions cover, toys, pirates and Celts, and are each 50 minutes long. They are aimed at ages 4-14, but all are welcome. There is a Quiet Session aimed at families with ALN (14.30-15.00). Booking is essential for all sessions.


Dino Day will be taking over Pontypridd Museum on the 25th August. The sessions are aimed at children aged between 4-11 but all are welcome. There is one Quiet Session aimed at families with ALN (10.30-11), and two other sessions through the day (12-12.40; 14-14.40). Booking is essential for all sessions but there are also free play opportunities between sessions.


Youth Drama sessions will be taking place on the 12th, 19th and 26th August at Pontypridd Museum. It is advisable to book all three sessions so that the team can focus on one large project, but you are also able to choose which one/s you'd like to attend. The groups are aimed at ages 13-18. and run from 18.00-19.00pm.  Booking is essential for these sessions.


For all bookings, we ask that where possible 1 adult only accompanies each group. There is a £2 fee for each session booked. You can secure your place by ringing 01443 490740 or by visiting Pontypridd Museum.


MUSEUM TALKS

Pontypridd Museum will be running a series of free talks, every Thursday of the summer holiday, from 12.15-12.45.

MEADOW STREET GARDEN

Meadow Street Community Garden has new summer opening hours and a new trail with Wiggle and his friends. They are also running family volunteering sessions every Wednesday throughout the summer holidays from 3.45-5.45.

Summer Forest School is returning for a six week programme, held every Tuesday of the summer holidays. Book now using the QR code or by clicking here.

Summer Food Programme

Monday Meet-Up will take place at Pontypridd Museum, and Graig Wednesday's will take place at Graig Community Centre throughout the summer holidays. Both are an opportunity to grab hot food and drinks with other members of the community. All are welcome!

Pontypridd Jazz Festival

We’re delighted to be supporting the inaugural Pontypridd Jazz Festival! Taking place on Friday 31 July – Sunday 2 August.

Get ready for a fantastic weekend filled with incredible live jazz, right here in Pontypridd.

There’ll be something for everyone to enjoy, with plenty of opportunities for all ages to get involved, including a children’s poster competition, with details already shared with local schools – we can’t wait to see your creativity shine!

Pontypridd Brass Band Festival is back! The programme is packed this year with live music, competitions, learner events, an exhibtion at Pontypridd Museum and more unexpected musical surprises.
