We are delighted to announce that we have agreed to award Valleys Kids an initial grant of £2,500 for the work being carried out in Rhydyfelin. The grant will contribute towards the needs of disadvantaged families including food parcels, shopping, collecting medication, collating play packs for children and well-being packs for parents.

Local Councillor Sue Presse stated "we are delighted to be supporting the incredibly valuable work that Valleys Kids do in Rhydyfelin. In recent months they have been a lifeline for local families affected by flooding and COVID-19. The Town Council are keen to support community groups across the whole of Pontypridd in a similar way and we would invite local community groups to contact us to discuss the support we might be able to offer."

Every three years, the Town Council is required, under Section 6 of the Environment (Wales) Act 2016, to report on the actions we’re taking to promote and protect biodiversity in our area. We are delighted to share our latest Biodiversity and Resilience of Ecosystems Report, outlining the projects and initiatives we’ve undertaken to enhance local habitats and support wildlife across Pontypridd. We hope you enjoy reading the report and discovering more about the wonderful green spaces we care for in and around our town.
