PONTYPRIDD TOWN COUNCIL - MAP - ARTISTS
Welcome to the pART of Ponty Art Trail 2025
Friday 9th - Sunday 11th May 2025
10am - 4pm
Thank you for visiting our pART of Ponty Art Trail website. Currently under construction, we’re busy getting all of the information about the artists together for you to plan your visit in-person and access their work online should you not be able to make it over the weekend.
Using the map below, see which venues will be participating in this year's pART of Ponty Art Trail.
We bring you the pART of Ponty Art Trail 2025, our annual Art Trail taking place across the town centre of Pontypridd and Ynysangharad Park, exhibiting the artwork by the graduating students from the BA (Hons) Creative and Therapeutic Arts degree at the University of South Wales. As the Community, Participatory and Socially Engaged Arts Practitioners of the future, the students have produced artwork that has engaged or has been informed by the community of Pontypridd, with some artwork inviting you to interact with the work on display. The exhibition not only showcases their work as artists, but also demonstrates their passion for supporting our community’s wellbeing, their ability to form meaningful connections, in addition to theirs and the community’s resilience during challenging times.
Students have been asked to consider accessibility and inclusivity at the heart of their practice, including in the content of this website. By visiting the artists’ pages, you can find out more about them and their work, whilst looking through a range of photographs, videos with captions, soundscapes, and more! We believe it is the most current and relevant way for our students to showcase their skills, providing them with important tools and experience for future practice, with perhaps an even wider potential reach than a traditional exhibition format.
The Students, Creative and Therapeutic Arts team, and the University of South Wales wanted to use this opportunity to honour and celebrate the wonderful relationships cultivated with the venues, businesses, organisations and communities across our town who have inspired and supported both the artwork and the Art Trail. We invite you to visit the locations of the artwork, immerse yourself in the trail, and enjoy our beautiful town centre and those who live here.
With thanks to all of the venues participating in the Art Trail, and in the workshops leading up to this weekend’s events. With special thanks to Pontypridd Town Council, Your Pontypridd Business Improvement District, Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, Website Sorted & Plaingraffic for their support.
We hope that you enjoy pART of Ponty Art Trail 2025, and join us in wanting to wish the graduating students of 2025 well as we launch them into their new careers in Arts and Wellbeing.
